Whitehouse ISD bond project complete with new Education Support Center

The Education Support Center is the final piece to the district's bond construction project that was approved in 2016.

WHITEHOUSE, Texas — The Whitehouse ISD bond project cost more than $94 million and took over two years to complete.

Among the completed projects were:

  • High school athletic complex with new baseball field, softball field and tennis courts
  • 80,000 feet addition Whitehouse High School
  • New junior high school
  • New elementary school
  • New maintenance warehouse
  • Animal agriculture barn
  • CTE Center

The final piece to the project is the Education Support Center. According to the Superintendent Chris Moran, the new center will also be helpful for parents of students.

"This facility will absolutely help us serve our community in a better way and offer the opportunity for those that need help in filling out forms, helping enroll students," Moran said. "All of those things will be able to better serve our parents."

Before the new building was established, several district offices were across town, causing challenges for the district's administration.

"Being closer together in proximity will help us communicate and coordinate in a much, much stronger fashion," Moran explained.

The Education Support Center, which used to be Brown Elementary School, is the central location for the district who serves more than 5,000 students yearly.

Moran says he is hoping the district continues to grow in the future.

"We're thinking forward, planning ahead for growth, and we want to make sure that we're prepared for that when it happens to better serve," Moran said.

The new center will house the board of trustees, special education department, finance department and maintenance department.

The community is welcome during normal business hours with any questions pertaining to the district.
