Residents along Tanglewood Street in Tyler are shaken up after a powerful line of storms uprooted a tree, causing it to collapse onto several cars.
Homeowner Shaketta Hughes said the sound of the falling tree alarmed everyone.
"I heard something real, hit real hard, and my husband hit the ground."
Crews spent the day working to move the power lines safely so they could begin to remove the tree from the roadway.
Keonda Durden, also a resident of the home, said that Tyler police and fire were quick to respond, blocking off the street in order to avoid any potential injuries from the exposed power lines. When power will be restored, is another question.
"All they said would be power would be restore tomorrow."
The City of Tyler hopes to th ave these trees removed from the roadway and powered restored by tomorrow afternoon.
