Sex offender suspect with record in five states arrest Thursday

TYLER (KYTX) -- At about 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 2, Smith County Sheriff's Office patrol deputies and detectives executed an arrest warrant on a sex offender at his residence on County Road 384 in the northeastern portion of Smith County.

TYLER (KYTX) -- At about 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 2, Smith County Sheriff's Office patrol deputies and detectives along with members of U. S. Marshals Task Force executed an arrest warrant on a sex offender at his residence on County Road 384 in the northeastern portion of Smith County.

Nicholas George Heintz, 60, of Tyler, is accused of Failure to Register as a Sex Offender in Smith County.Heintz has gone by different names in the past such as John David Carver and Nicholas Vaughn Banner. Heintz has a criminal history in the states of California, Utah, Oregon, Arizona, and now, Texas.

The agencies of the U. S. Marshals Joint East Texas Fugitive Task Force (Tyler Division) that assisted in this investigation included the Smith County Sheriff's Office, Smith County Precinct 4 Constable's Office, and the United States Marshal Service. The primary mission of the task force is to arrest violent offenders and sexual predators.
