WHITEHOUSE, Texas — Get ready to lace up your skates and hit the rink. A new roller rink in Whitehouse is generating a sense of nostalgia for East Texans.
"That was the big thing when we were younger," Paradise Skating Rink manager Brandy Pina said.
Located on Texas State Highway 110 in Whitehouse, Paradise Skating is one of the few rinks in East Texas and has only been open a month. However, the venue is already helping create memories for a new generation.
"You see the parents talking to the kids and the kids with the eye roll...and the parents saying we used to do this. This is how we used to have fun," Pina said.
Not to mention the venue's pumping music, neon lights and disco balls are designed to bring back memories.
Their goal is to get everyone, young and old, involved.
"Even grandparents with their grand kids or parents with their teenagers all get together and it's really fun for everybody."
Additional design aspects and features are currently in the works. According to Pina, they hope to finish in time for summer.
