UPSHUR COUNTY, Texas — The Bettie Volunteer Fire Department says there were no injuries following a massive overnight house fire.
According to the BVFD, a driver alerted first responders to the scene of a residential structure fire at 8958 Farm-to-Market Road 2263, in Gilmer late Thursday night.
Firefighters worked through the night to bring the blaze under control.
The BVFD says there was no one at the residence when it caught fire.
The American Red Cross says if a homeowner comes forward, they can provide emergency financial assistance, comfort kits, blankets, stuffed animals for children, referrals to community partners for food and clothing, as well as recovery planning to the impacted family for free.
The organization is available 24/7/365 to assist families affected by tragedies.
