NEW CHAPEL HILL, Texas — A man was taken to a local hospital after being pulled from Lake Tyler on Monday evening.
According to the New Chapel Hill Volunteer Fire Department, the man was on a jet ski near the Old Omen Boat Ramp on Lake Tyler East when witnesses say he "looked dazed" and fell into the water.
The NCHVFD says a group of Good Samaritans pulled the man from the water and performed CPR until emergency crews arrived on scene.
"We noticed something odd going on. When [the jet skier] got about 20 yards from the dock, he ended up falling over. [My friends] went and jumped in the water and grabbed him...We dragged him through the water, put himm on just a person's boat... and we started CPR about 15 minutes until ambulance showed up," Mathew Belcher, the man who administered CPR to the victim, said.
Officials say the man was alive when he was taken to a nearby medical center. His current condition is unknown.
