WOOD COUNTY, Texas — A group suspected of stealing firearms and chainsaws from vehicles in Wood County has used deadly force after being confronted by a home owner according to the Wood County Sheriff's Office.
The suspects, described as "possibly three Hispanic males driving a 2016 or newer dark colored pickup possibly a GMC or Chevrolet," by the Wood County Sheriff's Office, are suspected of burglarizing cars early Thursday morning. They are considered organized, and are also thought to have committed crimes in Rains County.
The burglaries occurred behind the Alba-Golden school along with the 2370 and the 1600 series of county roads.
Firearms and chainsaws were taken from the vehicles, and the Wood County Sheriff's Office Criminals Investigation Division is asking those who have videos of the act, to contact them. The suspects are considered armed and dangerous.
The Wood County Sheriff's Office is reminding citizens to limit the amount of valuables in vehicles, and to lock them when not in use.
