LUFKIN, Texas — Crews are currently on scene of a gas leak that has closed a street in Lufkin on Friday afternoon.
According to the press release, Wilson Ave. is closed from North Raguet Street to Barto Drive in Lufkin due to a gas leak in the area.
In addition, sections of Barto Drive are closed until further notice.
Lufkin fire officials are on scene and are conducting samples of the air to ensure the safety of residents in the area. Centerpoint crews will also be out making repairs which will take an additional two hours.
As of now, there is no immediate danger but residents will smell a strong odor of gas.
