Whitehouse police captain arrested for DWI, placed on administrative leave

A spokesperson for the Whitehouse PD confirmed Brewer has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal affairs investigation.

SMITH COUNTY, Texas — A Whitehouse Police Captain is on leave after he was arrested Saturday for driving while intoxicated.

Arrest records show Jereld Frank Brewer, 59, was arrested Saturday and booked into the Smith County Jail for driving while intoxicated on a $500 bond. Brewer was released Sunday.

A spokesperson for the Whitehouse Police Department confirmed Brewer has been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an internal affairs investigation in accordance with the city’s and police department’s policies and procedures.
