Whitehouse ISD special needs students treated to shopping trip with Mostyn Moreno Foundation

Using a $50 gift card provided by the foundation, each special needs student goes to a local retail store to select and purchase Christmas gifts.

TYLER, Texas — Early Wednesday morning, the sounds of delighted squeals of students in Whitehouse ISD’s life skills program could be heard across Troup Highway’s Walmart Supercenter. The students were led by their teachers down the toy aisles as part of the annual Christmas Lights shopping excursion, thanks to the Mostyn Moreno Foundation.

“Thanks to a very special family, we are lucky enough to get to take all of our kids in the life skills programs on this amazing shopping trip,” said David Keen, Whitehouse ISD Life Skills teacher.

Created in 2006 by Amber Anderson Mostyn and her late husband Steve, co-founders of Mostyn Law, the Mostyn Moreno Foundation is a tribute to the memory of Steve’s mother Glenda Jean Mostyn who dedicated her career to teaching special needs students in East Texas.
