WHITE OAK, Texas — The White Oak ISD Board of Trustees unanimously named Jackson Parker on Friday the lone finalist for the superintendent position.
Parker has served as the interim leader of the district since June 30 after the resignation of former Superintendent Dr. William Paul in June. Parker was the White Oak High School principal from 2022-2023 and he was the assistant superintendent in 2023-24 school year.
He has been in education for 33 years, serving in multiple capacities. His wife, Tina, is the health science teacher. The district said it is blessed to have Parkers in the Roughneck family.
"White Oak is a special school district. The pride and tradition run deep. It is an honor and a privilege to be named the lone finalist, and I will work each and every day to make it a place where students thrive," Parker said. "The staff is incredible and the best is yet to come. GO ROUGHNECKS!!"
The state requires that school boards observe a 21-day waiting period before an official contract is offered. Parker is scheduled to sign his contract on Sept. 5.
