LINDALE, Texas — County Road 431 (Jim Hogg Road) in the Lindale area has reopened to drivers after a water main break caused a washout Friday.
According to Smith County officials, Lindale Rural Water Supply repaired the water main and Smith County Road and Bridge crews have backfilled the hole with a clay and gravel mix. The road crews also placed a temporary patch on the section of road, just north of Interstate 20.
Due to predicted rain this weekend, Smith County Engineer Frank Davis said his crews will go out to the area next week for permanent patching and repaving.
