The Van ISD Board of Trustees has approved the creation of a new position, Director of School Safety.
The position would help to further advance current safety and security measures as well as be responsible for the development and implementation of an updated and comprehensive district-wide school safety program.
“The safety and security of our students and staff has always been and will always be our top priority. We continually strive to improve and enhance all areas within the district and this is no exception,” said Superintendent Don Dunn.
The board approved Brownsboro Police Chief, Thomas Robertson, to fill the position. Robertson has an extensive record in law enforcement, having served as Deputy Sheriff, Patrol Sergeant and SWAT Team Training Coordinator for the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office.
