UT Tyler medical student appointed to Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board

Schwartz is currently pursuing a Doctor of Medicine from the UT Tyler School of Medicine and an Executive Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management.

TYLER, Texas — On Thursday, Gov. Abbott appointed a Tyler native student to serve as the student representative on the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. 

Luke Schwartz will serve at the student representative for the board starting June 2024 through May 2025.

According to their website, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board "works with the legislature, businesses, and other key stakeholders to ensure Texas higher education goals are aligned with economic and talent needs."

Schwartz graduated with an associate degree from Tyler Junior College before completing his bachelor degree at Texas A&M University.

Schwartz is currently pursuing a Doctor of Medicine from the UT Tyler School of Medicine and an Executive Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Management from UT Tyler.
