UT System takes steps to move forward with finding SFA's next president

In a short meeting, the board agreed to begin the process of inviting candidates to interview with the regents during future meetings.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas — The University of Texas System Board of Regents is moving forward with the process of finding Stephen F. Austin State University's next president.

In a short meeting Friday, the board agreed to begin the process of inviting candidates to interview with the regents during future meetings. Officials also noted that the names of finalists have to be released at least 21 days before voting to select a president.

In August, UT System Board of Regents Chairman Kevin Eltife selected the search advisory committee members who are advising regents about picking SFA's next president. UT System Chancellor James B. Milliken is leading the search committee as chairman.

A few months ago, SFA became the 14th University of Texas institution. Gina Oglesbee is currently serving as SFA's interim president during the search. She will not be the permanent president.
