UT Health East Texas has made the decision to close their Olympic Center facilities until further notice amid the coronavirus outbreak.

UT Health East Texas Olympic Centers issued the following statement via Facebook on Monday afternoon:

"As UT Health East Texas continues to gain information and monitor the health situation in our community, we have made the decision to close our Olympic Center facilities until further notice. This decision has been made in order to make the wellness of our members, patients, and employees our highest priority.

We understand how important exercise is but we feel this decision is being made in the best interest of everyone. All member billing and accounts will be suspended until further notice. Clinical services (physician offices, physical therapy, cardiac rehabilitation) will remain operational.

We will continue to rely on our hospital, local, and national health advisers and leaders as to when we will be able to re-open our doors. Please be assured that we will continue to update you on our plans as we closely monitor the situation.

We look forward to continuing to meet your health and fitness needs once it is safe to resume standard operations."
