TYLER, Texas — The Upshur Rural Electric Cooperative Corporation is warning customers of a scam targeting customers during the coronavirus emergency.
According to URECC, the scammer called a customers threatening to disconnect their service if they do not pay immediately.
URECC says they are not shutting customer's power off at this time.
Further more, URECC says their customers should not trust any calls or e-mails or any other service making demands for money at this time.
People should also be aware of rumors going around online and call their provider's for confirmation on any rumors.
