Tyler Rose Earl Campbell celebrates his 15th year of sobriety following addiction to pain killers

In a Facebook post Thursday, Campbell, who is a Tyler native, said this Oct. 11 is his 15th sobriety anniversary.

Hall of Fame running back Earl Campbell, who is known as The Tyler Rose, shared on social media Thursday he reached 15 years of sobriety following an addiction to pain killers. 

In a Facebook post Thursday, Campbell, a Tyler native, said this Oct. 11 is his 15th sobriety anniversary. 

"I know there are many on the same journey that battle or have battled addiction problems. Keep fighting one day at a time. Keep us going Lord. Peace and Love, EC," the post read.

In 2012, Campbell shared his road to sobriety with our sister station in Houston after being addicted to pain killers he took to recover from a back surgery. 

He became known as the Tyler Rose during his playing days at the University of Texas and with the Houston Oilers.
