TYLER, Texas — Tyler police are continuing to ask for the public's help in the investigation into the death of Jose Alejandro “Alex” Perez.
Perez, 44, was identified as the body found in a ditch near FM 346 between Troup and Whitehouse on May 5. Prior to his body being found, Perez was had been last seen 9 p.m. on April 26 at the Towne Oaks Apartments in Tyler.
Tyler Police Department spokesperson Andy Erbaugh said Tuesday investigators found some pieces of evidence in Perez's car and at the scene of where his body was found.
"I can't say what we have recovered or have not recovered. But there are things that were found at some of the scenes that are assisting us," Erbaugh said. "But again we are going to want anybody who has any information. There are people out there who know what happened or have heard what happened and we need those people to contact us."
Detectives are seeking out surveillance footage or doorbell cameras that could help with the investigation. Those who know anything are urged to call Tyler police at 903-531-1000, Erbaugh said.
