UPDATE: 2 in critical condition after shooting in Tyler, Mt. Pleasant man arrested

The case remains under investigation.

TYLER, Texas — Two men are in critical condition after a shooting Wednesday afternoon in Tyler. 

According to Tyler Police Public Information Officer Andy Erbaugh, around 2:30 p.m., officers responded to the 1900 block of North Palace Avenue regarding a report of a shooting. 

Officers found Brandon Dixon, 33, of Tyler, with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported by private vehicle to Christus Trinity Mother Frances ER and remains in critical condition.

A second person, Steven Forman, 32, of Gladewater, was found in the 1500 block of North Dargan Avenue. He was also shot multiple times in the incident on N. Palace. He was transported by EMS to UT Health on Beckham and remains in critical condition. 

Lanard Askew, 30, of Mt. Pleasant, was arrested on-sight for the shooting. He was booked into the Smith County Jail for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The case remains under investigation.
