Tyler nonprofit group's first mental health awareness 5K set for May

TYLER, Texas — The Evie Effect, a Tyler nonprofit organization focused on mental health and suicide awareness, has set its inaugural mental health awareness 5K in May at True Vine Brewing Co.

The goal of the event is to encourage community and mental wellness, said Jessica Domingos, The Evie Effect co-founder and executive director.

The organization put together the event after realizing the need for mental health awareness 5Ks in East Texas.
