TYLER, Texas — A Tyler man was sentenced to 40 years in prison Thursday for sexually abusing a child for over six years.
Camron Bowens, 38, was sentenced to 40 years in prison without the possibility of parole after being found guilty of sexually abusing a child following a jury trial.
Bowens was arrested in December 2022 for continuous sexual abuse of a child, according to Smith County Jail records.
Prosecutors presented evidence that Bowens abused a 9-year-old child which continued for over six years. The judge sentenced Bowens to serve 40 years day-for-day and he won't be eligible for parole, the Smith County District Attorney's Office said.
