TYLER, Texas — This weekend, the city of Tyler celebrated 90 years at the historic Texas Rose Festival.
On Saturday, East Texans gathered with close relatives and friends to see all the sights and colors displayed at the parade.
"Just seeing all the people, the smiling faces. The kids, they love Shriners. And we love the kids. We have the hospitals that we try to support. So we're very proud to be here. Since the Shriner's been around we've been coming out to the parades," Sharon Shrine High Priest and Prophet Randell Farley said.
The first Rose parade began back in 1933, making this the 90th year. One of the biggest events of the festival is the Queen's Coronation showcasing a variety of unique gowns.
