Tyler Berry Farm reopens to public after significant storm damage

Some large trees toppled over some patches of the areas where the blueberries grow.

TYLER, Texas — The Tyler Berry Farm is working to recover from Monday's storm that caused downed power lines and more than 40 large trees to be uprooted.

Some large trees toppled over some patches of the areas where the blueberries grow.

"Thankfully, nobody got hurt, only the small houses, Marshall and Addie's grandparents, the chicken coop. The good thing is nobody got hurt," said Mark Tripura, a missionary from Bangladesh who works at the farm.

After Monday's storm, the farm, located at 9628 County Road 429 in Tyler, announced it had to close until further notice because of the significant storm damage. But on four days later, the farm was able to reopen. The driveway was cleared and the berry shed was cleaned as well.

They are in the recovery phase of clearing out all the fallen trees; however, people are still able to come pick and purchase blueberries during normal business hours Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
