Tyler Animal Services offering free adoptions throughout August with donations

Organizers with the shelter are asking for donations of six white towels or six fleece blankets in return for no-cost adoptions for both dogs and cats.

TYLER, Texas — Tyler Animal Control and Shelter is offering free adoptions for pets throughout August when residents make a donation to the organization.

Organizers with the shelter are asking for donations of six white towels or six fleece blankets. In return, they are offering no-cost adoptions for both dogs and cats. These towels and blankets will be used for animals at the shelter.

Officials specified that donations of blankets roughly 50 inches by 60 inches are preferred so they can easily fit in a pet's kennel.

All animals adopted from Tyler Animal Services are spayed or neutered, microchipped and have received necessary vaccinations. The standard adoption fee is $120 for dogs and $80 for cats.

Anyone looking to adopt their new furry best friend can do so at the Tyler Animal Shelter at 4218 Chandler Hwy.
