Children, seniors, and people with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable to harmful bacteria that may be found in contaminated water, the city of Troup said. Water should be brought to a vigorous rolling boil for two minutes before consumption.

Public water system officials will notify customers when water is safe for consumption.
