TYLER, Texas — As Christmas approaches, places around East Texas have various events to light up the tree and bring holiday cheer. There are several tree lighting ceremonies scheduled across the region:

UT Health Tyler Tree Lighting at 1000 South Beckham on Nov. 28 from 5-6 p.m. Santa will stop by, refreshments will be served and the tree will be lit by open-heart surgery patient Rob Taylor.
