DPS identifies man killed in wreck at Old Jacksonville Highway, Toll 49 intersection

Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. Adam Albritton said the driver of SUV ran a stop sign and her blood was taken to see if she was under the influence.

TYLER, Texas — Officials have identified the man who was killed in a crash last Friday at the intersection of Old Jacksonville Highway and Toll 49.

Marcus Allen Hayley, 49, was driving a Jeep when he was involved in a wreck with an SUV at the intersection. The crash caused the Jeep to roll over and Hayley was ejected, Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. Adam Albritton said. 

Albritton said the driver of SUV ran a stop sign and her blood was taken to see if she was under the influence.

Hayley was later pronounced dead. The driver of the SUV was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Albritton said. 

A memorial service for Hayley will be held Saturday, July 6, at 11 a.m. at Lloyd James Funeral Home, located at 1011 East 1st St. in Tyler. 

The Texas Department of Public Safety is currently investigating. This story is currently developing, and CBS19 will update this article as more information is released.
