The Park of East Texas, Inc. to host East Texas State Fair, Red Dirt BBQ & Music Festival

The 300-acre event will host the fair for the first time later this month.

TYLER, Texas — The Park of East Texas, Inc. announced Thursday it is hosting the East Texas State Fair along with the Red Dirt BBQ & Music Festival.

The East Texas State Fair itself announced the move to the 300-acre campus located at 11315 State Highway 64 West in Tyler in May, after the hiring of new President and CEO Cody Rosenbalm. The end of the previous lease prompted the movement of the fair, which was previously held on the fairgrounds near the Tyler Rose Garden.

The fair consists of rides, livestock shows and events such as art contests from Sept. 20 to 29.

The Red Dirt BBQ & Music Festival follows the fair a few months later on May 10. The longstanding event is set to bring in several country artists to Tyler, along with dozens of barbecue establishments from across Texas.

This year, the festival brought in acts like the Randy Rogers Band and Casey Donahew.

"The Park of East Texas is honored to host his beloved event this spring," Rosenbalm said.
