DALLAS — More than 900 pounds and 2,000 units of THC concentrate vaping cartridges were recovered by authorities earlier Monday afternoon.
According to the North Texas Criminal Sheriffs' Criminal Interdiction Unit (NTXCIU), around 3 p.m. Monday, officers pulled over a vehicle that they suspected to be connected with criminal activity.
The driver, identified as Joe Huang, allowed the officers to search the vehicle. The officers found about 976 lbs of marijuana and 2,000 dosage units of THC vaping cartridges.
NTXCIU says the contraband was traveling from California headed to Georgia.
Huang was arrested and will face a number of drug charges.
The NTXCIU was formed in 2017 as a collaboration involving several North and East Texas sheriff's offices to fight narcotic and human traffic along the highways and interstates in the area. Among the sheriff's offices involved in the collaboration are:
