POLK COUNTY, Texas — An East Texas teen has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a man in Polk County.
According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office, on Tuesday, Nov. 7, around 12:20 p.m., deputies responded to a shooting on Big Man Rd., just north of Leggett
When officials arrived on scene, they found LaDarion Sykes, 27, of Livingston, unresponsive with several gunshot wounds. Sykes was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
"Officers on scene received information identifying the shooter as 18-year-old Donal LaPaul Hogan, a resident of Big Man Rd.," the PCSO said. "A firearm believed to be used by the shooter was discovered at the scene. Witnesses were interviewed who gave information that Donal Hogan made statements that he was the person who shot LaDarion Sykes."
Hogan was taken to the PCSO where he was interviewed then arrested for Sykes' murder. His bond has been set at $750,000.
