Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission awards city of Jacksonville $150,000 grant to restore park

The city of Jacksonville was one of the cities in East Texas that was granted $150,000 to renovate and further develop Lincoln Park located in Cherokee County.

JACKSONVILLE, Texas — The city of Jacksonville has received a $150,000 grant to renovate and develop a park, according to a press release.

According to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission, a total of $20.6 million was awarded to renovate select parks across the state.

The city of Jacksonville was one of the cities in East Texas that was granted $150,000 to renovate and further develop Lincoln Park located in Cherokee County.

The project is expected to develop the following elements:

  • Seven-foot-wide concrete trail
  • Playground
  • Assortment of site amenities
  • Exercise equipment with shaded area

Currently, there is no information as to when construction will begin for Lincoln Park.
