JACKSONVILLE, Texas — The city of Jacksonville has received a $150,000 grant to renovate and develop a park, according to a press release.
According to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission, a total of $20.6 million was awarded to renovate select parks across the state.
The city of Jacksonville was one of the cities in East Texas that was granted $150,000 to renovate and further develop Lincoln Park located in Cherokee County.
The project is expected to develop the following elements:
- Seven-foot-wide concrete trail
- Playground
- Assortment of site amenities
- Exercise equipment with shaded area
Currently, there is no information as to when construction will begin for Lincoln Park.
