LONGVIEW, Texas — A 17-year-old is dead after police say he and another juvenile attempted to burglarize a home in Longview.
At roughly 2:20 a.m. on Wednesday morning, Longview Police responded to a residential burglary in progress near the 1400 block of Mahlow Drive.
Police say when they arrived they found a 17-year-old male, who was the suspect of an attempted burglary, inside with life-threatening injuries. The suspect was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.
Officers were later notified that a different juvenile had arrived at a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. An investigation determined that the juvenile was involved with the incident on Mahlow Drive. He is being detained at the Gregg County Juvenile Detention Center.
