Teachers and staff members at odds with Frankston ISD leadership

More than a dozen teachers and staff members resigned before the upcoming school year.

FRANKSTON - It appears people from the community are at odds with superintendent John Allen. 34 teachers and staff members have resigned before the upcoming school year. People claimed Allen, who's been with the school district for a year, has created a hostile work environment.

This came after a high school principal, who's considered to be a respected person in community, resigned just two months before the school year ended. Since then, sources told CBS 19 superintendent Allen has bullied staff members and teachers. Many with concerned waited until the school board meeting's open forum to express their thoughts.

People said a request for a special meeting regarding the alleged behavior of the superintendent has been ignored. Weston Rogers, a middle school student said the tension has interfered the student-teacher relationship. Some of the best teachers he said are not coming back.

"One of my favorite teachers left because she was tired of it," Rogers said. "When my mom told me, I was heartbroken."

Superintendent Allen didn't respond to any of the comments made in the open forum. School board members declined to share any comments with CBS 19. There are still vacant positions for teachers instructing: biology, chemistry and US history.
