KILGORE, Texas — One person is dead and another suffered serious injuries following an overnight shooting in Kilgore.
According to the Kilgore Police Department, just after midnight, officers were called to the intersection of Thompson St. and Myrtle St. on reports of a shooting.
When police arrived on scene, they found one man dead and another who was flown to a Tyler hospital for treatment.
SWAT was called to the scene and learned the suspect had left the location and was at a home in the northern part of the city. After negotiating with the suspect and family members, the suspect was taken into custody without further incident.
"Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the victims," the KPD said.
