LONGVIEW, Texas — Longview ISD could have a new superintendent by July.
Longtime Superintendent James Wilcox announced in the fall that he would retire no later than the end of 2025. Wilcox became superintendent in 2007. He retired in 2011 and was rehired as a part-time superintendent in 2012 and began receiving Texas Teacher Retirement benefits.
Trustees earlier this month interviewed two consulting firms to help guide the process of searching for potential candidates to replace Wilcox, with the board hiring Georgetown-based JG Consulting.
