2 Sulphur Springs ISD employees arrested for unlawful restraint of elementary student

SULPHUR SPRINGS, Texas — The Hopkins County Sheriff's Office arrested two Sulphur Springs ISD employees for unlawful restraint due to an alleged incident involving an elementary student. 

On May 10, Marcie Stewart and Kristy Williams were booked into the Hopkins County Jail for unlawful restraint, which according to the press release, is a state felony. 

The investigation into the incident is ongoing and police say other arrests are likely.

According to the news release, the state of Texas mandates professionals working with children report abused or neglected children and failure to report is a crime.
