TYLER, Texas — Some of the littlest Americans in Tyler got into the Fourth of July spirit with a patriotic parade ahead of the holiday.

Stepping Stone School in Tyler held its annual children's parade around their campus Wednesday morning. The kids and staff all donned their celebratory red, white and blue and the festivity was filled with American flags as well.

"You know boys and girls are not always born with patriotism sometimes it needs to be instilled and inspired and that is why we do this annual children's old-fashioned flag waving patriotic children's parade," Miss Texas Senior Classic Queen Jo Anne McMeans said.

Stepping Stone also honored some local veterans, including one who recently turned 100 years old.
