Each ornament on the tree highlights an item an animal in the shelter needs.

TYLER, Texas — It's the giving season and pets are in need of help this time of the year as well.

The SPCA of East Texas has launched an angel tree in their brand new facility in Tyler and another one located at the Pet Supplies Plus.

Each ornament on the Christmas tree highlights an item an animal in the shelter needs.

"You don't have to buy everything that's on it. It just gives you an idea of some of the things that we need so that you can I help make our animals a little happier this holiday season," SPCA East Texas Director of Operations Kat Cortelyou said.

The SPCA of East Texas has also collaborated with local nonprofit Hunger For Love in an effort to collect toy donations for families in need this holiday season.

People who are interested in contributing to the angel tree can make a donation at the SPCA lobby at 3245 W Grande Blvd or at Pet Supplies Plus at 5868 Old Jacksonville Hwy in Tyler.
