HENDERSON COUNTY, Texas — The Smith County Sheriff’s Office apologized to an elderly couple after a SWAT team drove to their Henderson County home in an armored vehicle to execute an arrest and search warrant for a bank robbery that officers ultimately determined the couple was not responsible for.

The sheriff’s office said investigators in the department and the FBI received information about the whereabouts of a possible suspect in the June 10 robbery of the First National Bank of Winnsboro’s Winona-Owentown branch at Texas Highway 155 and U.S. Highway 271.
