UPDATE: Arrest warrant reveals fight led to Tyler man fatally stabbing girlfriend's father in heart

Letierus Drew, 23, was booked into the Smith County Jail on $500,000 bond.

SMITH COUNTY, Texas — More details have been released after a Tyler man was arrested for murder.

According to Smith County judicial records, Letierus Drew, 23, was arrested by the Smith County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) following a fatal stabbing Sunday evening.

The SCSO tells CBS19 deputies were called to the 400 block of CR 34, near Bunny's Truck Stop just off State Park Hwy., around 5:20 p.m. and found a man, identified as Noe Luna, 42, who had been stabbed in the heart. Luna was taken to a local hospital by private vehicle where he died.

According to the arrest warrant, Drew had come the Luna house and would not leave. Officials say Luna told Drew he was not welcome at the house. Drew then walked away, but returned and knocked on the door again. At this time, the granddaughter of the homeowner answered the door and told Drew he wasn't allowed in. The warrant states Drew pushed the girl out of the way and went into the house.

The warrant says 911 was called and a fight broke out between Drew and Luna during which Drew pulled a knife and stabbed Luna, puncturing his heart.

Authorities say Luna is the father of Drew's girlfriend.

Officials were also able to get an arrest warrant for Drew and book him into the Smith County Jail on $500,000 bond.
