SMITH COUNTY, Texas — Several officials gathered at the groundbreaking ceremony of a new county road in Smith County Thursday morning.
The Tyler Economic Development Council was joined by Smith County officials and other community leaders to kick off the construction of County Road 3344.
“Today we see a simple clearing for CR 3344 but we can envision the development and growth that this road will inspire. This is a monumental occasion,” said Neal Franklin, Smith County Judge.
The construction project took years of hard work between multiple leaders including TEDC CEO/President Scott Martinez, former Smith County Judge and current Congressman Nathaniel Moran, Smith County Judge Neal Franklin and many people in the community.
