SMITH COUNTY, Texas — Smith County announced all non-emergency Smith County offices will be closed on Monday, Sep. 2 for Labor Day.
Offices will reopen for normal business hours on Tuesday, Sep. 3. Smith County Commissioners Court will be held at its normal time at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
"Since 1894, Labor Day has been observed on the first Monday in September to pay tribute to the contributions and achievements of everyday working families," Casey Murphy, a spokesperson for the Smith County Commissioners Court, said. "Smith County hopes you all have a relaxing and safe Labor Day!"
