POLK COUNTY, Texas — A Livingston mother is behind bars after her 1-year-old child tested positive for methamphetamine in their system on Thursday afternoon.
According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office, officials arrested Mary Ann Burkett, 48, of Livingston on a felony charge of endangerment of a child with criminal negligence.
An investigative report from Child Protective Services indicates the 1-year-old child was exposed to methamphetamine on a consistent basis and tested positive when discovered by authorities.
Burkett is currently behind bars and booked without incident into the Polk County Jail.
