Officials seize 85 grams of drugs following 2 separate traffic stops in Panola County

The suspected drugs will be sent to the Texas Department of Public Safety for an additional analysis as this investigation is ongoing.

PANOLA COUNTY, Texas — Two people were arrested following two separate traffic stops in which deputies found 85 grams of suspected methamphetamine in Panola County on Thursday.

According to the press release, Panola County Sergeant Gillie administered a traffic stop around 8:30 p.m. in the Beckville area after observing a moving violation. 

Following a search of the vehicle, officials discovered 28 grams of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, according to the Panola County Sheriff's Office. 

Around 9:30 p.m., Panola County deputies performed a traffic stop on a vehicle that had defective equipment. 

Roughly 57 grams of suspected methamphetamine, prescription pills and ecstasy pills were found inside, PCSO said. Both of the drivers were arrested and sent to a local detention center.

The suspected drugs will be sent to the Texas Department of Public Safety for an additional analysis as this investigation is ongoing.
