RUSK COUNTY, Texas — Officials have confirmed one of the drivers involved a head-on collision between two 18-wheelers in Rusk County died Friday morning.
Rusk County Office of Emergency Management Coordinator and Fire Marshal Patrick Dooley said one of the drivers was killed and the other driver was taken to the hospital for their injuries after the 18-wheelers struck each other on State Highway 64.
According to the OEM, Highway 64 was closed from Loop 571 to CR 424 as officials worked to clean up the scene. Dooley said Texas Department of Public Safety troopers are investigating the crash.
