NACOGDOCHES, Texas — Stephen F. Austin State University is celebrating its 101st birthday Wednesday.
"We're grateful for the tremendous support we've seen over more than a century of shaping futures, making friendships and creating lifelong Lumberjacks," SFA's website reads.
The school was initially founded as a teachers college in 1923, and became a full university in 1969. The school has over 100, 000 graduates within it's alumni program, and currently has over 10,000 students enrolled.
