FORT HOOD, Texas — Pfc. Edward Casteel, a Fort Hood Soldier, has been arrested in Louisiana. According to documents from the Lincoln Parish Sheriff's Office, an officer tried to pull Casteel over for speeding on I-20 back on Tuesday, October 6th. The officer claims Casteel was driving 92 miles an hour in a 70 mph zone.
The officer turned on his lights and sirens, but said Casteel did not pull over. According to the officer, Casteel then switched lanes while also checking his sideview and rear mirrors several times.
Eventually, an officer with the Ruston Police Department was able to pull in front of Casteel's vehicle. The Lincoln County Sheriff's Deputy came up behind Casteel's car, pulled out his gun and ordered Casteel to get out, which he did.
Casteel was arrested and charged with Speeding and Resisting Arrest by Flight. He's being held in the Lincoln Parish Detention Center under a $3,500 bond.
