LONGVIEW, Texas — Longview ISD is asking for community feedback in search of a new superintendent after laying out a timeline that extends into May.
The firm hired by Longview ISD will lead the search for a new superintendent invites the community to provide input through an town hall meeting and online survey.
JG Consulting will host a community town hall meeting at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19 at the Broughton Recreation Center in Longview to receive feedback from parents, staff and students on sought after qualities for Longview ISD's next superintendent.
The current timeline follows:
- March 4-8: Board member interviews
- March 11-22: Community outreach
- March 25: Summary report and leadership profile review
- March 25-April 11: Application period
- April 18-19: Candidate review
- April 29-May 3: Candidate interviews round one
- May 17-18: Candidate interviews round two
- May 20: Board names lone finalist
Longview ISD Board of Trustees selected JG Consulting during their Feb. 12 meeting to find a superintendent for a $20,000 price tag.
Current Superintendent Dr. James Wilcox previously announced his plan to retire in December 2025 after leading the district since 2007.
