Woman arrested, accused of attacking boyfriend with a screwdriver

The victim "suffered visible injuries from the assault," according to an arrest warrant.

SAN ANTONIO — A 28-year-old woman accused of attacking her boyfriend with a screwdriver is now facing an aggravated assault charge in connection with the incident.

KENS 5 crews were on the scene Friday when 28-year-old Saralyn Garza was taken into custody off the 3200 block of Rock Creek Run near Callaghan and IH10.

Garza was wanted in connection to an incident that happened at the same address a week before she was arrested.

According to an arrest warrant, Garza and her boyfriend got into an argument on August 1 that soon escalated, and Garza locked the 27-year-old man out of the house.

The man then tried to gain access into the house to retrieve his belongings by climbing into a window, but police say Garza was waiting, armed with a screwdriver and knife.

Garza then attacked the man, hitting him the head with the screwdriver, and using a knife to stab him in the hand, according to police documents.

Detectives report in the arrest warrant, “the Defendant (Garza) is a danger to the victim and the public.”

Garza is facing one charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

She posted bond the day after her arrest and has been released from jail, according to online documents.
